The Work Behind the Moment
"The most authentic brands are rarely built behind a desk. They're built in the moments no one was supposed to see."
— Erika, Contemplate Studio
When Erika from Contemplate and photographer Bence Vágó joined us behind the scenes during a two-day wedding installation, I realized how little of our work is actually visible to the outside world. Because this is what we do: make the effort unseen. The images they captured offer a glimpse behind the scenes. Many people imagine floral design as arranging beautiful flowers. In reality, that's only one part of the job.
Evergreen Moments works as a team, but the structure is never the same. It changes depending on the scale of the project, while the complexity of the work remains constant. On some projects, roles become highly specific, with some team members focusing entirely on logistics, loading and material handling. On larger weddings, different parts of the installation run in parallel. One team may be focused on the reception space while another is preparing the ceremony.
And sometimes, I barely touch a single flower.
At that point, my focus shifts to the bigger picture: coordinating the team, making decisions in real time and adjusting the plan as the day unfolds.
Nothing about an installation is fully linear. It moves through constant adjustments. Every project comes with its own set of variables: the weather, the venue, the timeline. Our job is to respond to them without compromising the vision behind the project. In the end, every space is shaped by hundreds of small decisions that no guest will ever notice.
And that is exactly the point.
The beauty of an event isn't created only by the flowers. It's created by everything that happens before they quietly become part of the space.
